This time, I came to Minhang, Shanghai to meet an old friend who works in a Korean company. I specifically booked my accommodation at Dijing Hotel Shanghai. I had heard from friends who often come to Hongquan Road to search for food before that it is one of the few cost-effective hotels that combines convenience and quietness. You can easily enter the contiguous Korean restaurants without dragging your luggage around the streets and alleys of Korean street. I took a taxi from Hongqiao Airport around 6pm and walked on Hongxin Road for 20 minutes to reach the hotel entrance. With the double-layer soundproof glass closed, the noise around the business district outside is almost completely isolated. Even during the late night market on weekends, I can sleep soundly until dawn.
The most worry free way to live here is to stroll, eat, and travel. You can step into the core area of Korean Street within a five minute walk and walk slowly along Hongquan Road. Even the Korean style barbecue restaurants, military hot pot restaurants, and Seoul style cafes in the area are within walking distance, without the need to take a taxi for a long journey. Walking a few hundred meters downstairs is Shanghai MixC, where you can shop at brand stores, watch movies, and check in at popular restaurants in one stop. After strolling the streets late at night, the Korean style late night soup restaurant in the alley is still open, and you can walk over and enjoy a bowl of hot beef bone soup.
The hotel's supporting details are also very thoughtful, with a 24-hour self-service water dispenser that serves hot barley tea at any time. After strolling on the street, you can pick up a cup to relieve boredom at the entrance. The choice of breakfast takes into account both Chinese and Korean tastes. There are Korean kimchi cakes, hot soy sauce soup, light Congee and freshly ground coffee. You don't need to go out to find breakfast in the morning. Finding such a hotel that balances convenience and quietness perfectly in the bustling Minhang core business district of Korea Street is truly a pleasant surprise for this trip to Shanghai.
